[IMG]any one have experience of using "modern" air cooled o/b?

only seen a old tommo one, noisy due to exhaust to atmosphere.

a mate is on a budget & may be possible using one as an auxillary rather than paying for 2nd hand one.

this type is 4-stroke, 4 hp for less than £300 new.

My missus has one on a sewing machine if that helps?

Not sure you'll get any info on air cooled outboards Bry, only seem to make them in the low hp sizes but there are one or two boats locally that have air cooled ob's as auxillaries but they tend to be Honda's

Take you're flares to the coastguard like everyone else:rolleyes:
Don't know much about these as you don't see a lot about, but I would think you'd be better off with a honda rather than a chinese made wind up rubber band model. What's the weight difference between these and a water cooled?

meant "loons", last lot of flares took to redcar life boat crew said they don't

take out of date ones anymore.

weight difference @ 10kg less, bit more if catapult elastic used.

*loons* now they bring back memory's, most the lad's on here will have to google that one LOL.
10 kg difference in weight pretty impressive be interesting to see if anyone has run one for any length of time and can report on reliability, running costs compared to a water cooled.Would think the sib lads could be interested in these.
