Hi Paul, would you say on average, the bigger cod usually turn up in August ?? Just from observing the last few years it seems like May, June And July for cod in numbers then you get a good amount of 10 - 20lbers in August but the numbers of fish disperse ??

Funny enough glen late july and into august even september we saw many cod between 15-20 lb range on Sea-Otter 2 but as it is allways is with fishing you just never know april last year we had a 53lb halibut whitby seems to be the place on east coast for hailbut we get them big most years here one would be great before the end of spring festival thats hindsight but thats whats fishing is all about.

Just a few of the belters from last summer on Sea - Otter 2 hopefully more of these to come.

Yeah Ive definately noticed a pattern of bigger fish in August, but a lot less fish in the boxes with you guys. Its a pattern Ive seen over the last decade or so. Not sure why that would be ?? Maybe the smaller fish move up mid water leaving the bottom for the bigger fish ??
