Due to inside swell no luck for launching so,

Had a daft short session at local "hot spot" for a bit of sport on light gear.

Carp rod,Neptune multi & dexter wedge managed quick 20 mackerel, some coalies

    & bull seal!

Riverside rammed with mackerel, just near pilot jetty area of choice don't know

How end fished, bull seal stopped play but tasty fresh b/fast.

    Danno

Its the river tees just before the gare end not too bad on a big high tide

Personal choice but gare end is hectic prefer other options & chance of bass too.

Due to poor conditions for boat outing next few days going to try using power ball method

& see if I can "trot" a jelly worm &get them shallower.

Had a session, got there early enough before the queues started took home 3 mackerel, I was getting a full string of baby billet (5to 6 inches) hitting the tinsel hooks. hopefully a good sign for the future, something for the cod to eat.
Had a look at the river, never thought about it before,(thanks Navmanfish ) will definitely have a closer look maybe for winter when the waves are too dangerous on the end.

Yonks ago river has had cod to 8lb up to Newport/transporter bridges.

Yomp over to ore terminal can provide cod on heavy seas, plenty of whiting

Flatties around sand areas around paddy's hole.

Tidal right up to barrage, autumn run of sea trout/ salmon will soon be giving

Rubber heads a change in diet.

Is it possible to drive to the ore terminal or do you have to pass a security gate, I've never had reason to go to the steelworks, can you just drive through?

When I worked on mobile cranes there was some bays just before the ore off loaders which had large floating box steel structures to try and keep floating rubbish out of the bays.If you walked 20 yards away from the structures directly behind there was some pumps and clogged in them was all kinds of fish.THORNBACK RAYS seemed to be the bigger fish sucked out of the river.

    Re: driving through works,

Years ago local club had to put ore terminal out of bounds it was giving steel workers unfair

    Advantage .

They got longer fishing time driving through works with car access than anglers without car

Pass & having to yomp to n back to gare road n on to weigh in.

Bags of 20lb+ whitting easier than run to boulby etc for cod but that's fishing .
