15lb 2oz Thornback - Caught & Released

    Paddled out before dark and caught some fresh mackerel

    Dogfish ruined the start of the night. Bait wasn't on the bottom for longer than 5mins before they swallow it to the tail lol.

    I changed the bait and put half a mackerel down, hoping the dogfish would leave the bigger bait.

    20mins later the rod bent double and produced this beast :) biggest thornback I've had from the kayak ever!!

    She weighed 15lb 2oz

    Kept in the live bag while I paddled to shore for some photos then it was released. One flap of the wings and it was gone.
