In the absence of the SBC wave monitor, it's a very useful site to keep an eye on developing swells, however interesting to see the brand new Tyne/ Tees buoy, launched about a month ago was washed up at Cayton Bay & recovered by the Coastguards last week - pic in Evening News last week.

You'd have though a device (or it's anchoring system) designed to monitor sea conditions would be designed to withstand the same conditions!!!

Been back in action a while now Mart. It took me some time to work out the wave directions but now I find this a very useful site.
