After being "persuaded" to give the Amble Comp a miss, & take eldest daughter & horse to a showjumping event, I took advantage of an earlier than expected arrival at home, to nip across for a few hours a Wykeham.

Arrived around 3pm, a couple of my mates had been there most of the day & had done really well, with around 10 rainbows each, mainly on black lures at a vriety of depths. Naturally the fish had eased off an hour or so before I got there  yes but I set on anyway.

Fished with a variety of lures on an intermediate, & had a few chucks with a string of buzzers on the floater. Eventually got a nice brownie

on a cats whisker, followed a bit later by a similar sized rainbow on a small black buzzer.

Ended the day around 530pm with this rainbow

on a black zonker.

Missed 2 or 3 others as well, mainly on the zonker. Nice couple of hours sport - seems to be fishing well - can recommend it for a session at the moment.

Cheers

Nice looking Brownie matey, quite fancy fly fishing at Wykeham but I usually drive past the Trout lake and go Pikin instead  whistle

Good looking fish- seem to have wintered well.
A nice little taster for when the season starts 'proper' in a few weeks.
