I got this rainbow trout from the River Dearne a couple of months ago. It's not a brilliant pic' but the fish was bog-eyed like a shebumkin (sp?) goldfish and had a small un-trout like mouth. Also, the Dearne has no trout fisheries along its banks so I haven't a clue where it came from.

I was really chuffed at catching the first rainbow trout from the Dearne and told everybody I knew, including my mate who I found fishing on the river a few days later. As we walked back to the cars another angler joined us and told us about a rainbow trout he had caught from the very same swim a fortnight earlier. "Strange fish" He said. "It was bug eyed".

Mines got to be a Tadpole fish about 20 years ago around bearfleet sorry bird fleight for the purists, common place now but all them years ago I had never even heard of them never mind caught one.
Strangest catch in fresh water is a flatty,I know these get caught all the time in fresh water but mine was caught beneath the via duct at liverton mine andas anyone local will know this is a good 5 miles from the sea with waterfalls, rapids and lots of other obstacles to navigate, poor little flatty must of thought it was a salmon. :blindfold:

Although they are supposedly extinct in the UK, I caught a burbot of about half a pound something like 12 years ago in Whitby Harbour.
