I fished Scaling about 4/5 times last year for the Pike, all I managed was a little jack Pike of about 1lb  embarrass Saying that I'll be back on there this year though, I'm just leaving them be for now so they can finish spawning. Apparently there are some good Pike in there but as with most places locating them isn't that easy, if you put in the hours then you'll get the reward but at £10.50 a day it's not the cheapest way to go Piking  cry

The bailiff was telling me how they lost half a dozen or so big Pike during 2006, biggest one being 26lb. Some were spawn bound others just died, all in perfect condition as well  cry
Unfortunately there may be the odd narrow minded trout angler knocking some on the head if caught on the fly/worm by accident but I do hope that is a rare occurrence  pray

I'll be down there for a session probably in the last few weeks of May, hopefully something will be about.

You thinking of deadbaiting or lure fishing mate?

i went up for a walk at scaling last year, around april-may time and there was a huge pike laid dead on the grass, full of eggs and would have probably been around the 20-25lb mark, dont know how it died but it was a massive pike and would have been nice to catch on a lure.

I have only seen one caught up there and it must have been all of four ounces!! Ive had one follow a trout in but it turned away at the last minuite.
