Scaling Dam Catch Returns

Best catch     Several limits of 16lbs to 19lbs.
Best flies     Damsel, Montana and Dawson's Olive.
Best baits     Worm, Powerbait and maggot.
Best areas     All areas fishing well.

Anglers at Scaling Dam have enjoyed the best week of the season so far. By mid-week the fish were in a feeding frenzy and the rod average reached 6.3 on a couple of days!!  Many anglers were taking their limits in a couple of hours.  With no particular hot spot, as the fish are well spread out, all areas of the reservoir were in top form.  All of the popular baits, worm, Powerbait and maggot were tempting fish consistantly throughout the week.

Fly anglers also had great results, mainly at the Eastern end of the lake. Montana, Damsel Nymph both tempted lots of fish, but the top pattern is still the Dawson's Olive fished slowly and very deep.
