I Pike fished Scaling a few times during October last year, only managed a small jack Pike (mind you the weather was awful). I have no idea how they got in there but they have been in for quite a long time and do go to a decent size. Unfortunately Scaling lost several 20lbers during 2006, apparently spawn-bound which is a shame

Hopefully if any of the trout fisherman catch one they would put it back unharmed but there are some narrow minded people about that think Pike spend all day eating through the entire trout population when really it's the total opposite.

I'll be back at Scaling this year to have another go at them, hopefully I find some of the bigger fish

Are you thinking of Pike fishing it Bucko or just curious?

Bit of both mate.

I've only ever caught a small jack but wouldn't mind putting one of my big saltwater flies past one!

I drive through Yarm on Tees most days to work and have been meaning to have a go down there for a while.

the story that i heard was that a man got banned from the fishery for going over the bag limit, and it was him who put the pike in to kill all the trout. not sure if it is true like

There would be some excellent drifts do be had on there.
I imagine some nice wild(ish) browns and overwintered rainbows would come out of the depths as well.
