Kielder Water Catch Report

Best catch: 5lb 2oz rainbow.
Best bait: Ledgered worm.
Best areas: Wave Chamber, Rievers' Rest.

The heaviest rainbow caught at Kielder during the first week of the season was landed at the Wave Chamber on the North Shore south of the Belling Inlet by Ian Gillford on ledgered worm weighing 5lb 2oz.

The heaviest total weight of the week was seven fish for 15lb 8oz caught at The Rievers' Rest on Orange Powerbait by Tom Maughan.

The Lakeside Way is now open from Hawkhirst Scout Camp to Matthew's Linn and bank anglers can access the shore easily to fish new stretches of water.

Boat hire times are from 9am until 3.30pm, there have been days when it has been unsafe for the boats to go out due to the very cold conditions, this decision will be made by the duty Ranger.

Tower Knowe Visitor Centre is now open from 10am until 4pm for permit sales.
