i know a lad who fishes the derwent reservoir and uses the yellow power bait,it absolutely hums  vomit but he swears by it for trout,he says when nothing else catches, that always gives the goods. i thought about it for saltwater but not sure...

I have seen the pink power bait destroy the fish on Grassholme resevoir.Like mouldy said, when worm and fly are failing, power bait usually winkles a few out....tight lines

Imo i dont honestly think it matters what powerbait colour you use. They all stink lol, My preferred colour is spring green with glitter but ive used white, rainbow, orange, yellow, green and pink and caught on all of them

I reckon it could have something to do with salmon eggs that are perhaps a byproduct from farmed fish.
It smells awful but the fish seem to like it.

I have used power bait on resevoirs but only when all else fails or the water is really coloured, but it only seems to catch stocked rainbow trout. Never had a brown trout on it yet.
Don't think its for sea fishing.

The Americans use it for salmon (of various types) and steelhead.
I'm sure coarse fish would have a go at it though.

My  mate at work who is a egghead reckons power bait contains pheromones etc which attract the fish.
