The Egton Estate water starts at the stepping stones at Egton Bridge, goes down to the road bridge, at Egton Bridge. Then it re-starts again at (approx) the bottom end of the Estate garden and then goes all the way down the toll road( water is far enough from the toll road not to be bothered by walkers and dogs) until you get to a stone railway bridge, then the river becomes the EFA water. Not sure how much is double bank if any. Hope that helps.
As you say there are some excellent holding pools and many fish into the teens of pounds. Always popular, so getting booking if you are wanting to fish the Estate water. Only three rods (I believe) per day so you will not be fighting for a pool to fish.
Best thing to do is to ring the Estate and I am sure they will be only too happy to help with your enquiries.
