went this sunday to my local carp fishery .decided to fish the poplars lake . with the air temp being so high the water was 6 degrees perhaps it might fish .decided to give the pellet a go  first fish came in on my first ship out a small f1 hybrid about 1lb i thought yes i have finally found a good feeding shoul. got two others up to 3 lb then dead .the guy next to me had been fishing corn  and had had around 20 lb by about mid day i tryed every thing couldent bye a bite then suddenly my float dipped i struck the bite , the no8 preston elastic looked an little undergunned  after around a 5 min fight i brought the fish to my top kit gingerly , i had a 3lb 0.10 silk shock rig line and a very fine wire gamakatsu 22 ! .the fish finally broke the surface it was a good 8 lb just as i brought the fish over the landing net ;snap my hook gave way and left me stuck in the bush behind me and a lost fish , by this time the guy nxt to me had around 40 lb in his net me being me gave my top kit a bit of a tug [ dont ever do this  unless u want 2 peices of carbon in your hand ] you guessed it snapped my bloody top kit completly in two  result   . . . caught  3 fish  lost a pound in a little sweepstake we had , snaped my new shimano speed master  top kit  gutted  :angry:and would u beleve it is going to cost me 40 quid for a peice of pole no more than 3 foot long  roll on summer  whistle

Good job fishing is sooo relaxing otherwise you would of been really pi##ed off  canadian wink

Sessions like that can be a nightmare but at least you didn't blank! I've just come back from a weekends Pikin, fished 3 different venues and didn't get a thing  cry tried every trick in the book but still nothing. Like you though I was expecting something with the temp being relatively high, oh well.
Think I might do some sea fishing this week, I'd be happy with a Rockling if means I catch something!
