Baliffs checked us today on the Derwent resevoir. Did not realise they carry asps (truncheons) and have powers similar to a constable.

I showed them my warrant card and the ice melted straight away.
Couple of nice guys. Nice to see as well to catch the fiddlers.

The only thing that bothers me  Mick, is that they only patrol the easy areas, therefore, anyone fishing less accessable areas dont get caught. I could do it myself in fact, year in year out.

Very true. As to a--holes on the river bank i had words last night with some drunks chucking their empties into the river. No warrant card either.

It certainly makes you think. There's bailliffs patrolling lakes and river banks looking for anglers to prosecute and make criminals out of them. Yet, no one patrols the same areas looking for idiots hoying crap into the waterways.
