TEESSIDER Peter Keenan has caught the biggest common carp ever tempted by an English angler.

His huge fish of 54lb 5oz was caught during a week’s holiday in France with Paul Turner, also of Billingham.

They fished Margot Lake at Morannes in northern France but, with the weather being unkind to them, they thought that they couldn’t possibly get a bite, never mind a fish.
