This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

yakking Sunday ?
« on: May 10, 2008, 06:43:30 PM »
lovely weather again & i keep waking up with the dawn chorus thinking i should be fishing, so i am mulling over where to go in the morning. If there are any more yakking insomniacs interested give me a pm. I am contemplating either Gristhorpe or Sandsend , I know the first option will involve more pain, but i have not been up there in the yak yet and it looked superb this evening.

If anyone can't stand the dawn chorus then I shall be around Cornelian during the evening tide, from about 6-9

Dave, me and Sam are going tomorrow and you are welcome to join us. We were thinking of doing Runswick again but if you think Sandsend might be a better bet then we'll go for that.

We were looking to get there about 10ish

4 am Rob?  :scared: , dont do mornings very well. Did you do any good in the pots?
Up to now I dont think I can get out tomorrow, have to show the wife a bit of family time before I bugger off down south n Guernsey this friday but I will play it by ear . . . I'm sure she would enjoy a few hours on the beach watching the kayaks bob up and down on the horizon  .

I've been getting ready for next week, van serviced, kit accumulated etc

birds wake up late in your neck of the woods matty  the reason i think Sandsend might be better than Runswick is you don't have a 40 minute paddle before you can start fishing & the tide will be ebbing so you can go out with it & back on the flood
will see what the morning brings and drop a pm when i set off Matty. might see you out there

Ive been out walking the past few nights and the water up here is crystal clear - Sandsend and Runswick look good for a shot. The water was like a mirror this evening and you can see the bottom from the cliff tops

Typical Whitby weather for May. We will have a week of fog now whilst 20 mile inland will be scortching. Living here isnt that brilliant at times
