got a bit bored yesterday, so decided to take me dads old rod (greys syntra) for a cast along with his penn 525 mag, as i'm thinking of upgrading. set up spot on the end of the fish pier at scarborough, and after about 10 mins trying to work out how the bloody reel worked, i clipped me lead onto the shockleader and proceeded to cast out. had about 3 decent birdcasts and after a slight and extremely stupid mistake by me, the shockleader fell off

even after a fairly long break from the fishing world, i'm still havin a rough old time! had a nice chat with mr cammish, and i blame most of my mistakes due to the lads at Edwin Jenkinsons puttin me off!!!

tis a silly question "have you caught out?" when i'm just using a lead
