They mine information from your pc and from the sites you join. Usually best to give away little personal info and join forums etc with a seperate email address - if they will let you. No worries with this site though, all your info is very secure and we abide by the data protection act  :happy:

Those stats are pretty shat for a company the size of Bauer (used to be IPC). Their magazines have never managed to get a decent online presence but I suppose the day there's more content on their sites than their magazines will be a bad one for them as their advertisers will either move online or at least make their budgets subject to a 'media split' which could potentially have a massive impact on the ad revenue from the glossies.

Online and Offline are 2 very different formats. These magazines think they will arrive online and get themselves a presence over night, but it aint quite that simple.

On a slightly different subject - Advertising on websites is fine especially if the webmaster knows the the score but - Beware advertising on line with sites who advertise paid links publically  :yes: Google watches like a hawk and they can cause your site more harm than good. Seek expert SEO advice before paying anyone for a link. The Official Word.

Too true Glenn, and do you think they want to pay the contributors twice??- I think not.
We've had dealings with shady types offering 'backlinks' and links within blogs for money- as you imagine they were shot down into a sea of doggy do doe before too long.

Who ever it was checking out our alexa ranking, if your interested in our site stats just ask and Ill give you the google analytics details  :wink: :happy: They paint a far more reliable picture, we don't sell links here though - you can have a link free of charge.

Justs shows that other webmasters are keeping an eye on us.
