This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Yes John has always done well over the years and he is an angling festival regular. I think he has fished every day of the competition so far this year.

Bloody hell, Does he save up all year round for this one then.

If he takes part each day thats getting on for a £1000.00 quid over the three weeks.

He'd definately better win it then.

I'm having one more go shortly, so here's hoping.

Barry Mccormick with his 17 pound cod caught today on Malcolm Pitmans Sea Spray. Malcolm did it again on the last drop of the day and dashed for home this time making the weigh in.

Local lad Andy Edwards with 2 more double figure cod from Paul Eddon's Trot on. Andy also had a decent ling which took second place today. Andy also had a 2 pound mackerel.

This fish was caught yesterday and takes the lead in the species section where the fish are rated as a percentage of the national record. Who knows what species this is ??

One angler On Paul Eddons Trot On had a bit of a shock today. He hooked into what they thought was a festival winning monster Ling which took and age to come to the surface and gave the angler the fight of his life. As the skipper stood ready to land the fish they couldnt believe what surfaced at the side of the boat. It was a porbeagle shark of 5 foot in length. As the species are not allowed in the festival it was returned unharmed. The shark was said to be 5 foot in Length and approximately 140 pounds in weight. Mick Leonard who was off on trot on today has the whole episode on video and is hoping to upload it to you tube soon.
