This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Week at Tenby
« on: July 28, 2007, 10:21:01 PM »
Well had a fun pack day in Tenby for the week took my rods and thought id have a good chance of a decent fish. Went to the local tackle shop in Saundersfoot do buy some new line and the man recommended a go at Manobier left hand side. Guess what....... No luck.

Next day the family decided to go to lidstep beach and round the corner there was a nice platform of rocks that looked certain to produce some fish flat calm no wind also others were fishing on it. So i cucked out and had no bites. Most of the fishermen where spinning for there fish which produced a couple of undersized pollack. All over the beach and the rocks there were shells of big spidercrab shells i didnt think you could get them around great britain ?

Gave the fishing a break for 2 days and then decided to take my grandad onto the pier at Saundersfoot, went with prime bait: peelers, white rag, normal rag worm, lug, sandeel. Cast out within 5 mins i saw a tap on my rod which resulted with a undersized bass, which was it for the rest of the day. My grandad claimed to have had bites but you know what there like  ;).

The next day thought we would use the bait up and go for another crack at monobier.....The rain hit us, Absoulutely p*ssing it down and we was in the thick of it ;D After this we chucked are baits in to an very rough sea which didn't produce anything. Last chuck thought i would put a monster bait out and just leave it until i got a bite. After 20 minutes i felt a decent bite and struck into what i thought to be a decent sized bass, was winding in and pulled into a snagg left the rod for couple of minutes to see if it would swim it's self out but no look so i pulled out of it and everything had gone. >:(

All in all it had been a good week to explore the welsh coast and enjoyed it ashame about the lack of fish though. Thanks
