This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

went for a paddle & some half hearted fishing this morning, Sea had a very summerish look to it all be it a bit cold.

A bit of an offshore breeze, but when i beached for lunch it was almost like real summer, so much so that i had a go with the plug, The logic tells me its too early but its just therapeutic, chucking that thing out & winding it back  crazy

Then i noticed all the new yakkers spying on me from the cliff tops happy

later, i found out that a rare greater Eider duck or something had flown in from Norway & twitchers from all over the country had come to see me scare it off  laugh

LOL!  laugh Nice one Dave.

I can't wait to get out yakking on Sunday, will be doing some plugging as well. It may be a bit to cold for plugging but I can't help myself, but as they say you have to be in it to win it so it's well worth chucking a few plugs around just in case something is about.

Great pics by the way.

Thought the water must be clearing as Killer phoned earlier to say they've had a brilliant days fishing with lots of good cod and several double figure cod upto 15 pounds. Hopefully have some pictures of them later.

I did, but the wind was quite strong offshore and none of the boats around me seemed to be catching so i didn't really give it a fare try. confidence is everything & i didn't have much. Oh & it was a king Eider duck aparently, can you eat em ?

I was up on the cliff top at Filey yesterday and although it looks clear at the edge,it's still not clear enough for jigging down there, nowhere near, on the plus side, theres a fish or 2 starting to show in the boats...tight lines

Was out yesterday in the same area in my boat new dave. we were fishing down at bempton using baited hokeye and we tried every bit of bait i can think of but blanked! the water was clear in places but really only in the shallower depths. a boat near me had a couple of cod and lost a good one. sea flat calm around bempton but bumpy as you went into the bay with SW on it against tide in the afternoon. wondered what all the twitchers were up to! wondered if bear grylls had turned up to do a bit of light hearted base jumping. my fav duck is still the one in the oven rare or otherwise!
