UC 6500C Help - Advice Please

Hello guys,

'cos of the "Ultimate Beach Reel" string I bought a UC6500C to use.  I already have two 7000's and love them to bits but with the praise being heaped on the 6500's thought I would take a look.

Two queries:
1 How do you use the 'Thumbar", I have tried all different ways but can't see what it actually does , when it is depressed it doesn't hold the spool back or am I missing the point?   ??? It seems better without the thing on there.

2 Is there a bigger handle available for these as the handle on this one is far smaller than the 7000 series?  ???
I've included these two pic's of the reel.





Any advice or help really appreciated.

not a thumb bar m8 its just to rest your thumb on while winding in, if you want a thumb bar spool free spool then you need a 6600 not 500

YOU CAN BUY A POWER HANDLE FOR IT HAVE A LOOK ON EBAY MOST PEOPLE CONVERT THEM OR PUT A CT CAGE ON THEM SO YOU CAN GET YOUR THUMB AROUND THE SPOOL ONE OF THE BEST REELS FOR CASTING
