This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

I've been well advised to go for the newer PRO model.Comes with far superior batteries and light per charge ratio ;)

Got both Tech and Tech Pro. The Tech come from America in 6 days and cost $80.00 all in, thats about £38. The Tech Pro takes 2 x CR123 batteries, you can get a charger and batteries for £15. The Tech is the better option, having 4 x AA batteries it has a longer duration although slightly heavier, you can hardly tell the difference. And AA rechargable batteries are plentiful.

Apparently Parcelforce are breaking the law by holding your goods to ransom by demanding an £8 fee,i got stung for it with the snowboard jacket and read up on it quite a bit, there is a number you can phone and challenge them if you want ;) ;D

I have also been stung for VAT and parcelfarces' handling fee when i bought a Calcutta and Penn 545 from states, second hand off ebay. Still slightly cheaper than over here but only just.
Would be interested to know how anyone gets on with challenging Customs and Excise, they would only loose the claim anyway!!!
On the subject of head torches i recommend a very good cheap torch sold by Go outdoors who sell a LED Cybalite extreme headtorch for £7 if you have one of their discount cards. web site:
GOoutdoors.co.uk
It has 3 power settings and I find it fine for working on the farm at night, will pick out fox/rabbit at 100 yards on max power and you can use ordinary rechargeable AA batteries. Also v.comfy good beam pattern and lasts several hours on max power much longer on the lower power. the only slight issue  I have is when batts are running low it just switches off although you still can switch it to the lower power settings so you are not left without a lot of reserve on the lower settings but unless you have the presence of mind to flick the button it could be a little compromising at the wrong moment hanging off a cliff etc.
I have no connection with this shop or company but it does seem to be a good cheap light even as a backup
Cheers optimist

I bought some rechargeable batteries from Lidle. They were rated 2500 MA and they were sheite. False economy, save yourself some cash in the long run and go for the main brands of Uniross, Energizer, or Duracell.
