This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Shark Caught On Skinningrove Jetty
« on: September 12, 2008, 03:13:27 PM »
Hi everyone
I had to share this one with yas lol
I went fishing last night on Skinningrove Jetty I was expecting some sport with Whiting and I wasnt dissapointed
I got dozens of them
Around 1am I got a stonking great bite I thought it was a Codling It turned out to be a Pouting around 1.5lbs
Later on I got another same size (Unusual Ive only ever seen them in Depths of winter never in Sept)
Anyway later on I had an even better bite and it was this fella, I couldnt believe it. What a funny old night.

nice one Acko. Sounds like you had a great nights fishing. Shame you had to kill old sandpaper skin. They are a pain in most parts of the country but it would be a pleasure to catch one round these parts.

and great news on the pouting, I love the little bug-eyed blighters!  :surprise: :surprise:
