Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

 Sea-otter2 Friday

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With a rairly stiff westerly wind on friday the lads from doncaster wanted to to give it a go as i said the weather forcast was for a breezy old day and we could only go on the wrecks not further than a couple of miles off but with a very small tide this is the best time to hit these wrecks we stopped for mackeral at the bouy then headed for what we call the mile and half wreck which is just what it is just 1.5 miles from the shore to the south of whitby this wreck is in 180ft of water that is what makes whitby so special deep water at a very close range which a lot of other ports just dont have it wasnt long before the smell of fresh mackeral running through the wreck got fish feeding the first fish on the boat was cod of about 12lb followed by a ling of the same stamp then another cod we fished the wreck for a couple of hours till wind got really fresh but the lads on the maiden trip out of whitby were all very happy chapies.
