This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Evening News Report 22.3.2007

With this season rapidly coming to a close it was good to hear of a few decent fish being caught in the relatively calm conditions, with a splattering of 5lb plus fish coming from the cliff tops at Bempton in the darkness along with a few dogfish to boot, unfortunately many other marks failed to produce any fish of any note and with the smaller tides later in the week the fishing tailed off badly.
In the South Cliff Thursday night match most anglers went looking for the big fish to take the sweep and only Steve I.Anson weighed in with a 2.12.0 cod, winner with the most number of points in the competition was Steve who for his efforts will receive £100.00, the heaviest bag and heaviest fish both go to Robbie Harrison who will pick up around £70.00 for both.
In the weekend club matches the fishing was more about the knockout finals, the conditions favoured the angler who had put fish on the table the previous match which was Kev Thompson with four pound plus and with his rivals failing to put a substantial weight on the scales this weeks Kev,s one pound seven sees him take the South Cliff singles, with Mal Norris and Matt Hillaby coming second and third, the doubles had been won the previous month by father and son team Mal and Steve Norris.
The predicted conditions for earlier this week will hopefully see a late run of fish
