This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

A bit of a glutton for punishment, but i nipped up to Runswick to gatecrash Sam & mats first fishing trip in the new yaks, not too successful on the fish side, Sam got a pollock & i managed a whiting  cry  but a pleasant day after the rain eased and i managed not to mess up all my photos today.
left them trying for a Dab in the bay, and they asked if they could sign up for the quint boot camp, in order to get fit for the coming season wink

better stop for tea   happy

and a little snack

then back to it

well done fellas,  yes

Great pics again Dave  cheesy

Nice to meet you today Dave, was good to see how a seasoned pro yakker does his thing  cool
Myself and Matty fished the bay for the last hour, I managed another 1lb Pollock where as Matty seemed to be a magnet to dinky Pouting  cheesy the wind did swing round a bit making life a bit interesting on the yaks so we decided to call it a day.

We really enjoyed our first kayak trip and can't wait to get out again.

cheers,
Sam

Good skills lads glad you had a good safe first day out with no "incidents"  surprise surprise whistle whistle unlike one of our other members  laugh laugh  You will soon be bagging up on the summer cod  yes

Jellyworm, Carpyken and myself went out on the holderness for a few hours this evening, we only managed a few doggies and whiting until the wind picked up and made things interesting !! so we decided to head in, ditch the rods and tackle and have a play in the surf !!  took a few pics and small vid clips that I will put on tomorrow when I have more time  yes

Nice pics Dave - well done Matty and Sambo on your first trip, I hope it lived up to your expectations - the fishing will soon improve and you'll both love your new kayaks I'm sure - kayaking is very dependent on the weather but you'll be surprised  how well they cope in lively seas - we had a fair storm around Scarboro this evening, (it must be nearly summer) and that is one type of weather that you don't want to be out in  surprise

No spawny cod Dave your slipping  gum was the water still clear?

Well done guys, glad you had a good day. You both looking well equiped there, a couple of great photos too Dave, one or two I would enter into photo of the month, very atmospheric. As Rob says, we had a little play tonight and I enjoyed catching my first ever doggy and we all had a laugh in the surf afterwards, only just got out in time as the heavens opened and the roads tretcherious on the way home.

Glad to see someone yakking on the local turf. Im sure there will be some very interesting times ahead both north and south of Whitby. We certainly have the gorund close in so the fish must be living in it and whats more hardly anyone has ever really fished these areas so you will be pioneering the sport. Hope to see you all out there in June when my kayak arrives. wink wink

cheers for coming along today Dave and thanks again for the advice you gave.

I am absolutely knackered and I have to admit I got a little bit sea sick today. I am sat here and I can still feel the motion of the waves! Its not going to put me off though, I really enjoyed it

Like Matty I was a little sea sick earlier in the day but was fine towards the end of the session, I'm sure that will pass once we get used to it. Glad we got home and unpacked before the heavens opened, don't being sat on a yak in the middle of a thunder storm  scared I'm proper knackered now mind  tired so an early night for me.

Well done Northern representatives  cheesy looking forward to seeing how you get on in the coming months. We sent the fishing monopoly officer up (newdave) with his trusty camera with orders to watch you closely. He reckons that it only took 2 chocolate bars to get you singing like canary's  cheesy
