Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Good question, I would also like to know the answer esp as I will be going to South wales in next few weeks and know a good beach with lots of razors. i've seen the salt method and also a small harpoon/hook gadget, but as most things in life it all about knowing how to use it and where and when to stick it for best results,  any answers?

im no expert lads but the keyhole is easy to see,we just used to dig them in scotland when digging whites but you break a few.
a lad i know salts the hole then does a few more as they take a while to come out the sand, and he was getting hundreds on a tide.

Bait is a scarce resource and announcement of exact venues will only see unscrupulous bait collectors arrive and clear out the area. By all means help people out via pm if you know they aren't bait diggers. Also be aware that do gooding conservationist types are currently surveying where we get our bait from - infact their surveying all things fishing. The places you tell them about will be the places they close when the marine bill comes in. So make sure you know and can trust the people you share your bait secrets with.

Anyone remember when Eric Appleby decided to share one of areas best razor beds location in sea angler mag back in the early 90s ?  angry angry

I dont think that it ever did recover from the resulting assault from the army of anglers and collectors taking them by the bucket full  sad sad

Them conservationists really boil my piss they do , i mean isnt it all part of human nature that we collect bait to catch fish ? hunter gather and all that
i think they need to be monitoring the high seas fleets scooping up everything they come across instead of us individual`s collecting bait for his/her own needs........humbug  suspious angry sad sad

Same problem down the A5 running out of Milton Keynes.  The lug beds have been decimated since someone let the cat outta the bag early last week.  hurt
