Can I just correct your grammar? It should read: Quality? Kayak fishing rod. Actually, I have one of those in my shed in Cyprus. I use it with a closed face reel and leaded jellyworms to jig for bream and wrasse while snorkelling. In fact, I'll be using it again next week

I would have thought a heavy bait casting rod used for Pike fishing would be ideal. Thats the type of rod i'm planning to use, when i eventually get cracking, and hopefuly sooner rather than later. It may also be a good idea to use a matching bait casting reel loaded with braid as well? A nice combo!

I have got a john wilson super shooter jerk bait rod, to be honest I find it a bit too stiff and lifeless. I am sure that there would be some more suited to yak fishing though. My fav yak rod is the solid carbon fladden 6'6 spinning rod in the 15-30 g weight. Its got a lovely sensitive tip but loads of power in the butt coupled with a decent fixed spool reel,10-20lb ultra thin braid, its great for plugging, jigging up to 4oz and bait fishing too !!

I think due to the cold spring, April first is 3 weeks late, Have to agree with you Dave.....but you know that youth and some of the "off the wall" antics he gets up to. I recall last year he told me what a great idea it was to walk onto Birdash for one of the festival matches , wearing shorts and hiking boots ! We both spent more time falling on our arses and losing skin to the rocks than we did fishing ! Best let him have his moment.....lol ....he come round and see sense. As for that toy that Rob is demonstrating.....well the reaction from his better half when he showed her his latest purchase had to heard and seen to be believed......surfice to say she didn't share Robs enthusiasm at the nobs spike...sorry ice pike The action of the pink pike is through rather than tip in that it bends right through the butt and feels like it would struggle to tame an angry tadpole. Good to see that some lighthearted banter type posts creeping back in....
