With the winter cod season just about to get underway, and 3 fishing festivals this coming month (Sept) there will be plenty of opportunities to get those camera's snapping and to post your fishing reports, hopefully by the end of September we will all of enjoyed some success on the cod front.

I really enjoy looking at everyone's pictures and to encourage you all to post more I thought I would run our first Photography competition for which the winner will receive a £20 shopping voucher and a pack of 20 size 6o Mustad Power Worm hooks (Paid for by advertising from BizrateUk on our websites Home Page).

The rules are:

1. Post a picture to this topic between 1st and 30th Sept, and a brief description of what, where and when , of anything at all (eg fish, fishing marks, sunset, sunrise, You with your catch, a boat, a kayak, the sea, the cliffs, not Bird ash ;), anything......)

2. The picture must have been taken in September whilst you were out taking part in any fishing related activity (eg fishing, bait collecting, recce of marks etc).

3. Myself, Ramrod and Ringer will each choose our four favourite  pictures (4 each) and these 12 pictures will go into a poll. The forum members will then have 7 days to vote for their favourite picture which will be the competition winner.

4. In the event of a tie I will have the casting vote  :D.

Yes folks don,t miss your chance. In fact I,ve already picked the 4 pictures that will make the final 12  ;D and the crowbar is at the ready to prise open BB,s  hand :D
I,ll be taking my camera so if anyone happens to see me and they,ve got a fish give me a shout (even though I will probably blank you  >:( ). Unfortunately even though my photo,s are already the best one,s Glenn,s £20 will be going to someone else as he seems to think it might be unfair  :'( and don,t forget "THE HALL OF FAME" as every fish can be weighed, so get those camera,s clicking lads. And good luck to you all.

Went off with Mike Breckon in is 14 footer Yesterday we launched 8 30am from Whitby  we went down as far as Robinhood Bay in close fishing all way on drift not much luck came back up to the bouy and then straight out about 4 mile got 4 macky 2 codling so sailed back to upgang fished for a while nothing so started back to harbour about 5pm then we heard it when we looked it was not one boil but 5 we got among them fished for
1/2 hr it was hawsome every drop a full string of 6 also found Codling got 14 of them (my ever first codlings) they where still at it when we left, it was mackrel on the surface not bait fish,

got to admit i have been getting a bit cocky lately with my immediate success at this yak fishing, but the Kayak king "Quint" rose to the challenge and put me back in my place with this beautiful Bass, it just refused to tip the scales over 7lb due to lack of a recent meal. i did get some street cred back by trolling a nice pollack of about 4lb. unfortunately the photo's are blurred due to water on the lense. I would think the Bass must be eligible for Ian's personal section of the hall of fame. For the technical mined it was taken on a Rapala X rap. But as Ian insist i am blindfolded on the way out you had better ask him where we caught it.

almost there

I'm more hooked on this than the Bass, great days fishing !
