This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

....yes you do, you just didn't ask the right person.....had one for 2 or 3 years - a mate of mine got 2 in a buy 1 get 1 free...great rod for toping. Butt's a bit long for normal downtiding, but you could soon lop a few inches off - I've never bothered.

Mart

I've used it for most fishing - to be honest I prefer my Daiwa 12lb rod for general over the side fishing, mainly I think as it's a bit lighter & butts a bit more manageable. In fact round the Brigg I generally use a spinning rod & fs reel most of the time now.

Only thing to watch is mine has "gold" plated rings, & I'm a bit wary of their resistance to saltwater...I swill it off with fresh after every session (all our rods & reels get that), then at the end of the season I give the rings a spray with WD40 before putting it to bed. They're a bit discoloured but none have rotted away like similar gold rings did on a spinning rod that I forgot to look after.

Looks like you got a good buy there!!

Cheers

ditto marts comments about the rings.
iv been using the penn powersticks in 12lb and 20lb class and the gold rings can be dodgy. i lost the tip ring on one of them just before i set sail out of whitby last year. had to make a quick dash to rods n reels to get a new one
