Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Some advice needed if anyone can help  yes

My ageing 535 gs is on its last legs now  cry battered, corroded and slack !! and I was intending to replace it with another one as my reel for the tops.
My question is wether the mag version is better ?? I know the 525 mag is vastly superior to the 525 gs as it has the ultracast style floating spool, however I believe the both of the 535s have the same internals ? Is the mag on the 535 powerful enough to brake a spool ful of 35lb mono too ?

I am completely happy with the GS but was wondering if the the mag version is just a touch faster ?

Cheers in advance

cheers Steerser I seem to remember reading that on an old thread  yes  Just dropped penn an e mail to get me a price on a mag sideplate, If they are £12 + £75 for the 535 gs then it is £13 cheaper than buying the mag in the 1st place !! surprise

Cheers

If it's for Bemmo and Flamborough Rob,you can't beat a GS for the price. They are true work horses and winch well, as you know...tight lines  wink

cheers smokey "If it aint broke dont try and fix it "  !!

I should heed that little saying a little more often instead of throwing money away on new gear that is usually no better than the gear it replaced  whatever whatever
