Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Shore crabs are starting to peel now Ben but not in great numbers - try the last week in May, first week in June as this is normally a good time and it will help you learn - you want to be looking at shallow rocky coastlines. Remember to place all rocks back the way you found them

Pancracker is a word I havent heard for years but I think its Yorkshire slang for someone on the dole trying to make cash in any other way than having to get a job. My streets full of em and many have tried to raid my traps over the years

Sadly that's true everywhere. I have great sympathy for people who cant take work because they are ill. But the buggers who claim the dole and make money at my expense  need a bullet. Sorry if that's judgemental (well not really sorry - shoot them I say  laugh).

I always thought a 'Pancracker' was a rather large sh*te.

We used to buy them in the early 90's off some lads of about 13 who fished up near the old boatsheds in Whitby for about 10p each! Usually they'd give us (lads in our 20's) some 'sterling advice' too- "Aye, you'll catch loads of sh*t-dabs on them mate".
