This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

FISHING IN NORWAY - NORWAY 2008 BIG COD
« on: July 23, 2008, 10:56:44 AM »
Myself, Paul Medd, Jeremy Robinson and Matty Hillaby have just returned from a very successful trip again to Norway. We had excellent weather all week which resulted in us been able to visit some marks further away from the harbour. The following is a brief summary of everyones notable catches:

Paul: Cod - Biggest 35lb and several in the 20's
        Halibutt - 55lb
        Coalfish - Several upto 24lb
        Wolfish - Biggest approx 10 - 15lb

Matty: Cod - Biggest 46lb and several in the 20's
          Halibutt - 12lb (ish)

Jer: Cod - 2 20's Biggest 23lb

Myself: Cod - Biggest 30lb and 11 others between 20 and 27lb
           Halibutt - 12lb
           Coalfish - Several upto 23lb
           Haddock - Upto 10lb

We also caught redfish, torske, whiting and ling between us and lost some much bigger fish!!

I have (hopefully) included some of my photos.

What a beautiful place, would love to go out there, and as you say Quint it would be the ultimate to do that on a kayak.

Half way through the week Jer decided to throw the rod in!! We think a fish pulled it out of his hand while he was watching someone return a fish.Despite numerous drifts over the mark (50m deep) we never got hold of it again. The mark has now been named 'the browning hole' after the rod
His spare rod still manged to nail a few though!
