Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Another Nesa casting event is coming up. Not sure of the start times but they are usually 9am. No doubt peeping John will stop peeping for just long enough to give you all the details you require. Will Mike break the 200 yard barrier this time ?  happy happy

Nowt to do with showing you're self up Chris I think it's more likely you can't tear you're self away from the beach long enough  cheesy
Wouldn't surprise me if a lot more of you lads down there don't end up with hernia's due to all the fish you are getting.
Think we're going to have to handicap Mr.Render he's starting to make it look too easy .

As for casting off the ground look at the results Jamie Blakeman did 242 yds , there's no rule that says you must pendulum cast !

Told ya you was doing 210 -220 last summer Macky  yes  Just imagine with a bit more "polishing" on sunny evenings down on the river what you could be chucking !!

Was that with your fishing reels too ??

having spent many years on the sea match circuit , with most anglers being more at home in the ranks of MI5 with all their secret(marks, rigs, bait, etc) me included, i would just like to say how refreshing it has been to have started to learn to cast with the lads at kirkletham, everyone helping with reels, technique, line dia etc, all trying to beat pb,s rather than each other.with these lads in the sport i can see it going from strenth to strenth. so if anyone is thinking of having a go ,bite the bulletyou may be pleasently suprised.roll on thursday night . ps getting ready to fish a match with lobbers, better hide that secret bait ,ha ha ha

Couldn't agree more mate, I think casting events are excellent days out ..good craic in good company ..I went to one of the ssa events a couple of years ago just to see what this casting carry on was all about and was made very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the day..Im no caster by any means only achieving 155yrds otg but learned loads and had a good laugh in the process.
Would recommend it to anyone and as you say there is no animosity there everybody just tries to beat there own pb.
