Below is a list of dates I have for opens both boat and shore which hopefully i will be able to keep updated. Nearer the date when i get the info i will endeavour to post the information. If anyone has a date they would like added please let me know. Some of these dates at the minute are just provisional so please if you are an angling writer do not publish these in any magazines. In the past this has been done and the dates have been wrong.

Frasers Open Boat Competition sponsored by Frasers Angling, Whitley Bay and Gateshead, Registration at the Royal Quays Marine North Shields 8.00 a.m. or beforehand at Rutherfords Angling, Sunderland, or Amble Angling Supplies. Fishing is 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Weigh in 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Entry is £7.00 all classes - a donation will be made to the RNLI from the entry monies. This is a Heaviest Single Fish competition and is open to all boats - charter and private. Competitors must arrange their own boat place. Anglers may fish out of Amble, Blyth, Tyne and Wear, but must weigh in at the Royal Quays where the prize presentations will be made. There are cash prizes and an excellent supporting prize table. The North East Division of the NFSA are holding an Open Boat Competition sponsored by Ian Woods, Game Fishing Supplies, Morpeth. Telephone 01670-510996 . This is a Heaviest Single Fish Competition and is open to all anglers using charter or their own boats. Fishing is 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. with registration from 8.00 a.m. at the Royal Quays Marina, North Shields. Tickets are also available from Ruthers Angling, Sunderland, Frasers Angling, Whitley Bay, Amble Angling Supplies, Amble and Ian Woods, Game Fishing, Morpeth. Entry is £7.00 per angler. Competitors must arrange their own boat places. Weigh in takes place at the Royal Quays Marina between 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Competitors may fish from Amble, Blyth, the Tyne and the Wear, but must attend the weigh in at the Royal Quays where the presentations will be made.
