Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Another thing to blame the Yanks for!!

More and more manufacturers are offering left hand wind though.

With the fixed spool it means the rods not changing hands when casting Phil if you were left handed it would be the opposite way around.

confused I wind the handle of a multiplier with my right hand with my left holding the rod, and when useing a fixed spool my left does the winding and right hand holding the rod,,, I have had this discussion with my mate Alan (big cliff) and he use's the right hand to wind on both multiplier and fixed spool reels and he cant understand why anyone would suddenly want to switch to winding in with there left hand when useing a fixed spool reel........ whatever to be honest i dont know the answer, it just feels right for me, so i suppose thats the answer what ever feels right for you is the right way.... yes yes

oooh how long could this un go on for?lol its just i've always used f/s with left hand retrieve and used my stronger arm to hold the rod.likewise with multipliers,i've tried right hand retrieve and its like i've got bungle fingers that wont do as they're told,so i've stuck to left hand retrieve and again, using my stronger arm to hold/yank the rod on retrieve...must say like,i do love this new 7001i  yes tis lurrrrrrrrrrvly
