This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Motivation ?
« on: September 12, 2008, 07:49:32 AM »
How do you festival guys motivate yourselves ? I just cant get my arse into gear. My reels are unserviced, my fishing sheds a tip and I cant get going this year. Im blaiming the kayaking because Ive enjoyed it so much.

I need to find some inspiration soon or the early season will pass me by.

An early frost will give you a kickstart.

My best years both on sea and freshwater have come when the first frosts have been in October.

Not seen that for a couple of years though.

Its a shame Dav isnt it that the local clubs, Whitby, Saltburn, Redcar, St Mary's couldnt get together and get something running at this end. A town like Whitby should be holding a shore fishing festival too. We have an excellent boat fishing festival with lots of sp[onsers and prizes but little on the shore front. Full marks to both Filey and Scarborough lads for organising such succesful events.
