This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

monday night fish
« on: September 12, 2007, 10:47:59 AM »
Got a phone call monday morning of a mate saying the sea was away and did i fancy a chuck.
I agreed to go and ended up going to Runswick were the sea looked spot on for a few fish. Got ther about 7ish and headed of along the beach towards the yatch club.Had 1 chuck there resulting in a rockling.Tide was ebbing enough now to move round a bit further.Set up and lobbed me big crab bait into the depths.Almost straight away i had a little knock and then slack line, tightened up to feel something tugging away at me crab so struck like a mad man and pumped it in over the rocks resulting in my best red codling to date of around 4.5lbs.After that is was almost a fish chuck for the next hour or so...then thigs went a bit quiet so moved back onto the beach infront of the yatch club were 2 lads were fishing.Theyed only managed 1 fish of about 2lbs but were tortured by weed.We decided to give it a go a bit further back to avoid some of the weed and it paid of  as my mate got another 4 fish, all around the 2lbs mark. All fish caught on crab and lug and only 1 fish was under sized. So a good early season start, just hope theres a few more sessions like it to come.
Ill try and get some pics up asap.
