Well Done To Ryan Vasey AKA Ryanfish For Winning The Whitby Fishing Club Junior Section.

Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

You will need a small selection of plugs that cover the different levels of water depth - if you do a word search on here you will get quite a lot of information on good plugs, there was a survey carried out on the forum not too long ago - it is certainly worth it but you will have to be prepared to put some time in for success and be under no illusions of instant returns - I know there are one or two anglers that fish for bass up your way, one of them may PM you to put you on the right track, but many bass lads have put in many fruitless hours building up their knowledge so don't expect too much - one small piece of advise I can give you is that you don't need a surf to catch bass as many people believe - good luck and I hope you have a real go

You should be telling us if its any good having a go on your beach at Marske mate
I live in Skinningrove and as far as I know Im the only one trying our local beach for bass on Plugs/lures etc
Ive been trying for 3 years without success but I will be there again this summer
Everywhere is worth a try  BUT If you do any good are you going to go on the internet and tell Everyone?
If you do people might come down and "Nail" all of your Fish???
Give It a go mate and Good Luck.

i have plugged for Bass at Redcar ( Coatham Beach), the
triangular marker opposite the Boating lake. I did catch a small
bass in small surf there.
I tried plugging on The Stray Beach ,Redcar but to no avail.

it's the old tune, the wrong day, state of tide, weather conditions, or just no luck at all.  but that's shore angling anyhow. 99.9% waiting, watching, hoping.   :whatever:
Then hey presto you strike one.

ooh the long slippery slope to lure buying  :scare: then realising you need more boxes to store them, then you need more lures to fill the spaces then you notice you've bought more than the box can hold so round you go again lol  :cheesy:
