This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

« on: August 07, 2008, 06:10:55 PM »
just been rakin thru some old lures and found an old rapala around 5-6inch in length, bright orange with black tiger stripes, it has a fair bit of weight about it but looks like the floating model only the lip is a bit beefier, is it an old magnum????  :suspious:

Phil if its an old magnum surely it will have grey hair and a big grey moustache by now thus making recognition a doddle  ,not sure about the countdown though depends wether its a male or female(mmm Carol Vorderman can come fishing with me anytime now she's out of work  not sure about old Des Lynam tho)

If it was a Magnum then it would probably have 'Magnum' on the lip, Husky Jerks don't come with rattle chambers either (I think).

Got your pic Phil, I'm 95% sure it's a Rapala Husky Jerk. Magnum lips are further forward and the older Husky Jerks have slightly raised gill covers  Could be wrong though, does it sink?
