Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Last Wednesdays match - Very poor results
« on: March 19, 2007, 06:55:52 PM »
Wednesday 14th March 2007

A small flooding tide with flat calm seas meant locating any fish at all was going to be a hard task in this late season match. As is usually the case when the sea is calm the majority of anglers headed onto the local beaches, and the sands at east row were lit up with headlights of anglers, the scene being like Blackpool in the autumn. Unfortunately there were no codlings weighed in and the whitings which usually prefer calmer conditions also failed to show. Only 2 anglers managed to catch anything at all with Rob Allison coming in first place with a rockling of 7 ounces and Dave Perett took second weighing in possibly the smallest fish ever seen in The Whitby club, a legal sized rockling weighing only 3 ounces. Both rocklings were kept alive in water and returned to the sea to fight another day.

Results 1st R Allison 7 ounces (1), D Perett 3 ounces (1).
