This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Traditional jiggers are a piece of chrome pipe filled with lead with a treble hook on the end. They are dropped to the bottom then jigged up and down. Not sure if many people are using them these days with methods such as shads, jelly worms and hokeye type rigs now fishing so well at a fraction of the cost and weight.

The ones in "she knows her plaice" are simple to meke but afraid cannot divulge their make-up as it was only passed on to me recently. They are however based on wool , plastic gift wrap tape and cotton !! Just a home made variant on a Hokai. Whip the material that you want to use to your hook, I use 3/0 or 4/0 strong hooks, using cotton, a dab of super glue.
Work out a lot cheaper than buying Hokais.

Cheers Dave.
