This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

It's Non Stop Cod For Sea Otter 2
« on: June 05, 2007, 05:31:56 PM »
Just had Paul on the phone who says its been non stop cod all week on Sea otter 2. Paul said at the start of the week the majority of the fish had been in the 2 - 5 pound range but now their is a fair mixture of sizes again with fish to 10 pounds being boated on shads. With the Summer fishing festival just around the corner things are looking quite good.

I can verify that statement. Having made yet another 600 mile round journey from Leigh-on-Sea Essex, to fish on Sea Otter on Monday and Tuesday i drove home yesterday shattered and happy. Conditions on monday were better than predicted but tuesday saw a late start, cause had we left at 7am it would have been quite uncomfortable out there. On both days Paul was running around like a possessed maniac, and produced the goods yet again. All anglers went home with good bags of cod and the mackeral also put in an appearance on Tuesday which i grilled for tea last night. Excellent. Some of the cod still throwing up pipefish when on board, but that did'nt stop them attacking shads, hok-kais, feathers and jiggers.

Good to hear you got back safley Tony and your fish still fresh you have got the cool box method off to a T. The wimp in the picture (Karl) it turns out tore a shoulder muscle winding in that 2nd double fig. cod in , that was why he nearly clattered Paul on the bonce with his lead. Ill have him barred from the boat until he improves his technique after all hes only been fishing 25yrs.!!
Good Luck for next time M8.

Cheers Howard,Karl obviously needs to strengthen himself up, so much for us Southern softies!!!. We had a good rappoir going and hope to see you on board again. I've got 6 days booked 23-29th June and hope to get up for the Sept festival for a couple of days on the 4th & 5th. When the other half got in from work on weds i had fillets, bones, skin, all over kitchen worktop (5 hour journey home weds). Told her to shut-up and start peeling potatoes into chips!. Am currently sleeping in the spare room!
