This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Hi Guys,

I've had an email from a guy who is running fishing holidays in Iceland asking for a mention on our website. I wasn't sure how to put this in the forum so have just copied his email. I hope you find it interesting. You can visit their website at :

www.icelandfishingtours.co.uk

ello  my name is Simon and the reason i am contacting
you is i have taken over as marketing manager for a
fishing holidays company in Iceland and i am now
approaching the uk market  i am wondering if it is
possible to let the members of your club know about us
you can visit our site www.icelandfishingtours.co.uk
to find out more i must add this site is a work in
progress so it is not finished i would also like to
mention that on the 15th of april 2007 i will have
Dave Barham editor of boat fishing monthly coming out
to fish with us for 3 days and then a feature in bfm
on his return please let me know if i can assist you
any further .

If the size of the lunkers we get from Iceland at work is anything to go by,it would be well worth a try.We got a load one monday morning last year and each box had 3 fish in it,i weighed one and it was 4 1/2 stone gutted.

Hi Simon,

One you've mastered the art I will set you up a board in the members pictures area then you can regularly keep us up to date.

To be able to post your own pictures you need to.

  • Go To Photo bucket site and register for a free account using the Join Now option from the menu (just like joining a forum) - http://photobucket.com/
  • Once registered - log in
  • On the page that comes up once you have logged in you will see at the top the words - UPLOAD IMAGES AND VIDEOS

  • Use the browse option to navigate to where the picture file is saved on your computer - usually in MY PICTURES
  • Select the picture you want to upload and click the upload it button
  • Once the picture is uploaded (takes 10 seconds) it will show in your gallerry.
  • Underneath the picture in the gallery is three tags - They will read as follows

1. url - http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5/big_cod/ie7problem.jpg

2. Tag - <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5/big_cod/ie7problem.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

3. Img -

[IMGhttp://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5/big_cod/ie7problem.jpg[/IMG]http://
  • You need to copy the third one - ie the one that starts img - into the forum post.

This is the gallery I use

http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c5/big_cod/

You can see the tags under the images.

Please try to keep images to a maximum width of 500 so people with small screens like me dont have to scroll to see the full image. Please shout up if you need help with resizing the images.

nice fish this is a common size here  but i do not like to push the halibut fishing to much as it costs more and i do not have the heavy duty gear for it  i use conoflex  30lbs boat rods and masterline reels loaded with 30lbs mono  the guy in the pic brought his own gear  was 60 lbs boat roc and a huge old penn reel loaded up with 120lbs mono
