This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Hows the forum running ?
« on: June 19, 2007, 09:29:15 PM »
Hi Guys,

After finding a few problems in the forum database Nick has fully reinstalled the forum (you might have noticed the forum being closed at times and weired errors appearing at the top of the page). We have lost the tagging system for now but hopefully we can get it back running soon.

So how is the forum running ? Has anyone noticed any problems today ? How is the speed of things ? are pages loading properly ?

Cheers - Glenn

Getting a few freezes while it thinks about loading pages, but gets there in the end.

Just got these two on the bounce when i tried to get to a page.

"Database Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /mounted-storage/home28b/sub001/sc24906-HICM/glennk/whitbyseaanglers.co.uk/forum/Sources/Recent.php
Line: 102"

"Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later"

Dont know if it will help find out what the problem is.... :)

20/06/07 11p.m.

Hi Bob,

It was murder before I went away, especially on 'dial-up', but everything seemed fine when I got back. Unfortunately, I couldn't access the forum at all late last night. Each time I tried to get in I got 'Data Error' message at the top of the window. It was painfully slow just getting the home page to open too. All seems fine again tonight though so let's hope the Gremlins have been busted?

Cheers, T

Cheers prof. I think Nick installed the latest forum version 1.1.2 and used 1.1.1 database by mistake. He very kindly put it right this morning. Hopefully things should be better now. I have thanked him on behalf of all of us as he has put a lot of time into getting things right and at no cost at all - who else would set a site up for you on their server, free of charge then come to your rescue everytime things go wrong. What a top guy  ;) :)
