Been out to Ravenscar and Cloughton today on a yak access recce, there was quite a big sea running , the surfers reckoned on just over 6 ft of clean surf, as well as a decent swell.
Couple of pics so you can see.

It looks to me as if there could do with being a little more colour in the water , think i will end up going tommorow night instead , according to magic sea weed it looks like the worse will pass for tommorow night yet a nice looking swell should be rolling .......

Water is chocolate brown from Saltwick all the way up the coast as far as boulby. Looks lovely for a fish or 2 in the right spots. Nice tides too.

Lots of places up here fish well for red kelp fish ;). For some reason we don't target them but I've had fish to 9 pounds on beautiful summers days just to the north side of Whitby. Those grounds would be amazing in a kayak.

The east pier used to be brilliant in mid summer fishing near the middle lifebelt. Sadly no more :'( :'(
