This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

Getting ready to take it up again.
« on: September 13, 2008, 10:21:00 AM »
Hi all,

I have not been fishing since the late 90's, due to a dicky ticker, but, this brilliant site has really rekindled my love for the sport.
This link really did it as I used to fish Holderness regularly, well done to the featured guys:

http://www.whitbyseaanglers.co.uk/forum/mackys-pictures/holderness-08/msg52334/#new

Got my rods and reels out of the shed, looks like I need some new tackle, but will do for a start.
I am also trying to pluck up the courage to get back on a boat, used to go out most of the time with Mick, the skipper of Ocean Crusader.

If anyone has info on the best bait shop around Hull, or any other tips for around Holderness, I would appreciate the advice.

Yes that was a great post by Macky, one of a few of his that I thought were top quality. Sadly Chris doesnt post very much these days although Im sure he is still fishing hard. Hopefully seeing that his posts have inspired others will encourage him to come back and post again.
