Polite Notice

This is a sea angling forum for the debate of all angling related topics, including: shore fishing, boat and kayak fishing. Here you will find pictures of anglers going sea fishing and catching fish. You will find angling related debate. Sometimes anglers will retain fish for the table. Whilst we respect the personnal choice of anglers to follow catch and release practices, this is not a conservation forum and devout conservationists unable to accept anglers sensibly retaining fish should seek out alternative forums. Anyone preaching catch and release or criticising other peoples reports will have their posts removed.

with all the talk about fog it got me thinking  when fishing of the beach in the day whould the fog help bring fish in closer i may be answering my own question but i know water colour is the most important one but if its foggy and the suns not getting through whould the fish seems less weary especially the rays n bass off  holderness coast or whould it still be better through the night tides ?????????

To be honest fire , i think a bit of fog would benefit daytime fishing  , i know in lure fishing and flyfishing etc , dull days do help , so why not with sea fishing ..i would obviously prefare nighttides tho without a doubt.........

Yea i must agree, although i had never really thought about it until now, i think thick fog would benifit the fishing in daylight hours, just like a cloudy mucky old day would, rather than a bright sunny day, if the fog is stopping the bright sunlight getting through than imo the fog would help your catch rates for certain species at certain times of the year.. Just my opinion tho.... happy

Being a 'dawn raider' myself (usually on the way home from night sea trout fishing) a good bit of cloud cover certainly extends the sunrise period which can be so good for bass and mackerel on the hunt.
